Combine the beauty of red rock canyons with stunning desert views on this wondrous 14 day immersion into the Southern Rockies of Utah! Backpack the historic Boulder Mail Trail in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, where you will learn backcountry skills including traveling comfortably with a backpack, selecting and setting up a backcountry campsite, sourcing and purifying water, and cooking over small backpacking stoves. In addition to the 3 day backpacking trip, gear up for a whitewater rafting float through a remote, red-rock canyon for four spectacular days. This rafting journey through Desolation Canyon will provide a welcome chance to cool off from the desert heat, as well as the opportunity to hop off the boat and explore the towering red rocks and petroglyphs. Plus, experience two days of canyoneering and practice rappelling down waterfalls and natural waterslides in the canyons of Moab, Utah. This is our only program that adventures into canyoneering!
